What are Hormones

Hormones are like little messengers that travel through your blood and tell different parts of your body what to do.

They are in charge of many important things that keep you healthy and in balance.

They help people grow and change from childhood to adulthood. They also help with mood, stress, and mental health.

Hormones also have a big impact on how your body uses energy and keeps its metabolism going.

They change how you sleep, how hungry you are, and even how hot you are.

Hormones also play a role in sexual health and reproduction. Your body works well and smoothly when these messengers are in balance.

Why Do Hormone
Levels Go Down

As you get older, your body naturally makes less hormones. Menopause causes a big drop in oestrogen levels in women, which makes a big difference.

As men get older, their hormones also change slowly over time. These changes can happen over time, but slowly.

Some medical conditions can also make it harder for the body to make hormones. Surgery or chemotherapy can change how hormones are made and controlled.

Stress and not getting enough sleep are two lifestyle factors that may also play a role. If levels drop too low, symptoms can start to get in the way of everyday life.

Signs of a Hormone Imbalance

Hormone imbalance can look different for each person, depending on which hormones are affected.

Common symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep problems that can leave you feeling tired and uncomfortable.

Many people also experience mood changes, anxiety, irritability, and difficulty focusing during the day.

Some women may notice vaginal dryness, low libido, weight gain, or a slower metabolism.

Thinning hair and constant fatigue can also impact confidence and daily life.

Over time, low hormone levels may weaken bones and increase the risk of osteoporosis, so recognizing these signs early is important for getting the right care.

Is HRT Right for You

Not everyone should use hormone replacement therapy. Everyone has a different medical history, way of life, and health goals.

That’s why treatment should always be tailored to the individual and closely watched. Before starting therapy, it is important to get a proper evaluation.

A healthcare provider will look at your symptoms, talk about the pros and cons, and decide if this is the right approach for you.

You can work together to make a plan that puts safety and long-term health first. The goal is to help you feel healthy, balanced, and sure of yourself again.
